Bosch tops two of five pressure sensor rankings

A diversity of established and new use cases for pressure sensors across multiple sectors means that Bosch leads a ranking by sales in automotive and consumer but does not appear in other rankings, according to Yole Developpement (Lyon, France). An Infineon MEMS pressure sensor is shown above.

Bosch is likely to continue to prosper as automotive and industrial applications will drive the global MEMS pressure sensor market over the next several years, according to the market research firm's data.

The market for MEMS pressure sensors will increase from about $1.6 billion in 2017 to just over $2.0 billion in 2023, experiencing a compound annual growth rate of about 4 percent over the period, Yole said.

Nearly half of that market is in automotive applications and almost a quarter in consumer applications. Then comes industrial followed by medical and then avionics.
