TSMC's sales growth slowed in October

November 21, 2016 // By Peter Clarke
October sales at global foundry leader Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (TSMC) settled back to a more modest year-on-year growth after strong sales growth in August and September.

TSMC's revenues for October 2016 were approximately NT$91.085 billion (about $2.85 billion), an increase of 11.4 percent over sales revenue in October 2015. Revenues for January through October 2016 totaled NT$776.80 billion (about $24.35 billion), an increase of 7.6 percent compared to the same period in 2015.

In August and September TSMC enjoyed year-on-year sales increases of 40 and 39 percent, respectively.

Despite the reduced growth TSMC is set to achieve robust sales growth in 2016, in contrast to the overall semiconductor industry, which is expected to turn in a flat year.
