Depth post-processing for Intel RealSense D400 depth cameras
In this paper, the authors discuss some simple post-processing steps that can be taken on a host computer to improve the depth output for different applications of the RealSense D4xx depth camera. The processes are analysed in terms of the trade-offs to host compute burden and latency. Open source sample code available in the Intel RealSense SDK 2.0 (libRS) can be used, but it is important to note that many different types of post-processing algorithms exist, and the ones presented here are intended to serve as an introductory foundation.
