
5G mm-wave startup raises $12.5 million in seed round

Mobix Labs Ltd. (Irvine, Calif.) has raised $10 million in an extended seed funding round and appointed James Peterson, former Microsemi CEO, as chairman.

Mobix, founded in 2020, is fabless chip company focused on the 5G millimeter wave wireless market. The company previously raised $2.5 million in its initial capital raise. Rick Goerner, previously an executive vice president of sales and marketing at Microsemi has been appointed as a board member.
Mobix is developing fully integrated, single-chip, single-die, millimeter-wave beamformers, antenna solutions and RF semiconductors.
David Aldrich has also joined its board of directors. Aldrich, is currently chair, and was previously CEO, at Skyworks Solutions Inc., another Irvine, California, chip company.
