Kyocera sues German auto supplier Preh
Business news |
Kyocera Corp. (Kyoto, Japan) has filed a lawsuit against automotive supplier Preh GmbH (Bad Neustadt, Germany), a supplier of dashboard and HMI technology in a Dusseldorf court, claiming infringement of haptic feedback technology patent.
By Peter Clarke

The case asserts the German part of European Patent EP 2 461 233 B1

Kyocera says it has been creating haptic technologies since 2008 under the name Haptivity and that it has offered on several occasions to license its technology for use in Preh’s “All-in-Touch” multimedia interface that Preh manufactures and provides for automobiles. The negotiations have been unsuccessful and Kyocera said it therefore felt obliged to file the suit.
