
Micralyne adds gas sensor manufacturing capability

MEMS foundry Micralyne Inc. (Edmonton, Alberta) has started offering a standard silicon process and process modules for the development and production of gas sensors.

“In the last several years, we have seen a growing demand for standard building blocks such as platinum micro heaters and specialty films that sense the presence of various gases,” said Collin Twanow, vice president of technology at Micralyne, in a statement. “Micralyne’s response to this emerging market need is a set of standard processes that enable designers to quickly move from a gas sensor concept to mass production. Micralyne has been manufacturing similar structures in production volumes for flow sensing for over a decade,” he added.
