The DA14586 has an integrated microphone interface to support voice applications and to add voice control to any cloud connected product.

This is the first Dialog designed to support the Bluetooth 5.0 specification. It is based on the DA14580. Enhancements include a power management setup with both buck and boost converters, which enable support of most primary cell battery types. In addition to Bluetooth 5 support, the DA14586 has 2Mbits of user application memory of its predecessor. It has 96kbytes of RAM and also supports mesh-based networking.

Expected applications include remote controls, proximity tags and trackers, beacons, connected medical devices, human interface devices, virtual reality controllers and wireless charging.

For cost-sensitive applications, the SmartBond family will also include the DA14585 with integrated one-time programmable memory as an alternative to flash memory.

The chip comes in a QFN40 package measuring 5mm by 5mm by 0.9mm.
