Medical ultrasound driver generates 5-level waveform at low power
Supertex's MD1712 dual channel, five-level ultrasound transmitter driver IC is designed for portable medical diagnostic ultrasound imaging applications. The IC can also be used in non-destructive testing and evaluation, metal flaw detection, sonar transmitters and piezoelectric transducer drivers.

The MD1712 generates a five level waveform for CW, PW and colour Doppler images. It drives twelve high voltage MOSFETs with its two channels, with 1.8V to 3.3V CMOS logic interface. The IC features a +/-2.0A source and sink current for high resolution imaging, up to 20MHz output frequency, and two separate gate drive voltages to minimize power consumption.

 

The MD1712 is available in a 48-lead QFN package (MD1712K6-G). The part is RoHS compliant. Samples are available from stock. Lead-time for production quantities is 4-6 weeks.
