Micralyne adds gas sensor manufacturing capability
MEMS foundry Micralyne Inc. (Edmonton, Alberta) has started offering a standard silicon process and process modules for the development and production of gas sensors.

"In the last several years, we have seen a growing demand for standard building blocks such as platinum micro heaters and specialty films that sense the presence of various gases," said Collin Twanow , vice president of technology at Micralyne, in a statement. "Micralyne's response to this emerging market need is a set of standard processes that enable designers to quickly move from a gas sensor concept to mass production. Micralyne has been manufacturing similar structures in production volumes for flow sensing for over a decade," he added.
