Wave Computing Inc. (Campbell, Calif.) has acquired processor IP licensor MIPS Technologies Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.) according to reports.
It is expected that Wave Computing will now widen its business model to include the IP licensing that has been MIPS stock in trade for many years. Whether it will also license its own dataflow neural network technology or only make it available in systems, which was the previous plan, remains unclear.
