ST joins forces with lidar vendor LeddarTech
LeddarTech (Quebec, Canada) and STMicroelectronics are working together on a lidar evaluation kit.

The evaluation kit is being created to demonstrate the capabilities of the LeddarEngine to automotive tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers and industrial system integrators.

The kit will include ST's MEMS-based laser beam scanner along with products from other LeddarTech ecosystem partners. It is being set up to demonstrate front-facing lidar for high-speed highway driving, as well as industrial and robotics lidar applications.

"Designed with demanding automotive and industrial applications in mind, ST's MEMS mirror-based laser-beam scanning solutions are ideal for a broad range of high-performance, high-accuracy, and high-reliability applications," said Anton Hofmeister, general manager of the MEMS microactuator division at ST, in a statement issued by Leddartech.
