Analyst CY Yao said a lack of news about Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 700 series processors could influence smartphone makers’ development of high-end models this year and possibly push customers towards the P60 from MediaTek.

In 2Q18 the top five in the ranking are expected to remain place but Marvell may have a chance to replace sixth ranked Xilinx. Marvell is due to acquire dataventer processor maker Cavium. Cavium’s revenues have been remained in the range of $220 million to $250 million since 4Q16.
